What Makes Snoop Dogg’s Cookies a Game Changer
Let’s talk about what sets these cookies apart from every other peanut butter cookie recipe floating around the internet—starting with the name.
These aren’t just any peanut butter cookies. They’re officially called “Rolls Royce Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies,” and they come straight from Snoop’s cookbook, From Crook to Cook. The name alone tells you everything you need to know about how Snoop approaches these cookies; they’re meant to be luxurious, indulgent, and a cut above your average homemade treat.
And honestly? The name is perfect. When you bite into one of these cookies, you want to feel like you’re experiencing something special. Do I want a Rolls-Royce? Absolutely. Do I want a cookie that tastes like the Rolls-Royce of cookies? Also yes. Even if the only Rolls-Royce I’m getting is the edible kind, I’ll take it.
But here’s what really makes these cookies special: they’re refreshingly simple. No chilling the dough for hours, no complicated techniques, no fancy ingredients you need to hunt down at specialty stores. Just straightforward, accessible baking that delivers homemade cookies in under 30 minutes. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you look like a baking genius without actually requiring genius-level skills.
The chocolate-to-peanut-butter ratio is also generous; two full cups of chocolate chips means every bite is loaded with melty chocolate goodness. And let’s be honest, there’s something fun about making a cookie recipe associated with Snoop. It adds a little personality to your cookie plate, and everyone always gets a kick out of hearing what you’re baking.
Ingredients You’ll Need For Snoop Dogg Cookies
Before we jump into mixing bowls and melted chocolate, let’s talk about what goes into these cookies. The full recipe with exact measurements is in the recipe card below, but here’s what you’ll be working with:
- All-purpose flour – The foundation of our cookies that gives them structure without making them cakey.
- Baking soda – This is your leavening agent, helping the cookies rise and creating that perfect soft texture.
- Salt – Never skip the salt! It balances the sweetness and makes all the other flavors pop.
- Butter (room temperature) – Creates richness and helps achieve that melt-in-your-mouth texture; make sure it’s softened for proper creaming.
- Creamy peanut butter – The star of the show! Use a standard brand like Jif or Skippy for best results (natural peanut butter can make cookies too oily).
- Brown sugar – Adds moisture, chewiness, and a hint of molasses flavor, making these cookies extra special.
- Granulated white sugar – Works with the brown sugar to create the right amount of spread and those slightly crisp edges.
- Egg – Binds everything together and adds structure.
- Vanilla extract – Enhances all the other flavors and adds warmth.
- Semisweet chocolate chips – Two full cups because we’re not here to play games; you can also mix in peanut butter chips if you want to go all-in on the peanut butter flavor.
The beauty of this ingredient list is its simplicity. Everything here is a pantry staple, which means you can whip up a batch of these cookies pretty much any time the craving hits. No special trips to the store required.
My Favorite Cookie Tools:
- Parchment Paper: Never worry about cookies sticking to your pan, and make cleanup a breeze! Perfect for even baking.
- KitchenAid Mixer: Skip the arm workout and save time with a stand mixer—ideal for making large batches of cookie dough effortlessly.
- Sheet Trays: Quality matters! Using high-quality sheet trays prevents cookies from browning too much or cooking unevenly. A must-have for perfect baking.
- Cookie Scoop: For consistent cookie sizes every time, I love using a cookie scoop. Having multiple sizes lets you choose between large and small cookies!
Tips for Perfect Snoop Dogg Cookies Every Time
- Use Room Temperature Butter: Your butter should be soft enough to leave an indent when you press it, but not so soft that it’s greasy or melting. If you forgot to take it out of the fridge, cut it into small chunks and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Don’t Overbake: Pull the cookies out when the edges are golden but the centers still look a tiny bit underdone. They’ll continue cooking on the hot baking sheet and stay soft and chewy.
- Chill Your Dough (If You Have Time): Refrigerating your cookie dough for 30 minutes to an hour before baking gives you thicker, chewier cookies with more concentrated flavor.
- Add a Sprinkle of Sea Salt: For a gourmet touch, sprinkle a little sea salt on top of each cookie before baking. It will enhance the flavor of the chocolate and balance out the sweetness.
My Honest Review and How I’d Improve Them
Okay, so let me give you my completely honest take on these Snoop Dogg peanut butter cookies after making them several times.
What I Love:
The recipe is foolproof and incredibly simple. I love that you can go from “I want cookies” to “I’m eating cookies” in about 30 minutes, which is exactly what I need from a cookie recipe. The peanut butter flavor is present without being overwhelming, and the two cups of chocolate chips ensure you get chocolate in every bite. The technique of using both brown sugar and granulated sugar does create a nice texture with soft centers and slightly crisp edges.
Where They Could Be Better:
Here’s my honest feedback: I found these cookies to be just slightly dry and crumbly. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still delicious and totally worth making, but there’s room for improvement with a simple trick.
How I’d Improve Them:
To take these cookies from good to absolutely incredible, here are my recommended tweaks:
- Enhance Moisture: To counteract the slight dryness, I’d add an extra egg yolk to the dough. That little bit of extra fat makes a huge difference, creating a softer, more tender cookie.
- Upgrade the Chocolate: To enhance the gooeyness, I recommend using a mix of semi-sweet chocolate baking bars (chopped into chunks) and milk chocolate chips. This is the secret to my ultimate gooey chocolate chip cookies, and I can’t suggest it enough. The chocolate bars create those gorgeous melty pockets, while the chips distribute evenly throughout. It’s a game-changer.

With a couple of small tweaks, they can be absolutely phenomenal. They’re definitely worth making, especially if you’re a Snoop fan or just love the peanut butter and chocolate combination.
FAQs
I wouldn’t recommend it. Natural peanut butter has a different oil content and consistency that can make your cookies too greasy and cause them to spread too much in the oven. Stick with conventional brands like Jif, Skippy, or Peter Pan for the best results.
Yes! If you prefer a bit more texture in your cookies, feel free to use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy. It’ll add a little extra crunch in every bite.
Absolutely! Scoop the dough into balls, freeze them on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. They’ll keep for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to bake, you can bake them straight from frozen—just add 1-2 extra minutes to the baking time.
Yes! Substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour blend. The texture might be slightly different, but they’ll still be delicious.
Definitely! Chopped peanuts, peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, or even a swirl of strawberry jam all work beautifully in these cookies. Get creative!

Notes
- Mix up the chips: Use a combination of semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter chips for an extra flavor boost.
- Don’t overbake: The cookies may look slightly underdone when you remove them, but they’ll continue to set as they cool, giving you that perfect chewy texture.
- Storage tip: Keep these cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze the dough for future baking!

These cookies trick the taster into thinking they are just chocolate chip, until they bite into them and discover a hint of peanut butter. These are soft, airy, and full of flavor. I don’t know if chocolate chips are considered a “dry ingredient “, but I couldn’t see where it says to add them. It’s not a big deal to anyone who bakes regularly, but for a beginner, it might need to be stated. Also, I put my dough in the fridge while I preheated my oven.
Mix the dough: Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until a dough forms. Add in chocolate chips.
Delicious!!!!!
These were so good! I used an extra egg yolk and chilled the dough for about 2 hours before baking. I want to try it with chunky PB and dark chocolate chips next time.
Best chocolate chip cookie! Look no further – these can’t be beat
Hell ya. Snoop knows what’s up. Threw together in minutes. Delectable. Foo proof! Thanks Snoop.
Two things I did not like about these cookies: 1) the peanut butter flavor is very light, I want to taste more! and 2) these cookies just fall apart. They need to be more solid to hold together and I don’t this this will ever be possible with the large amount of butter and the peanut butter. Those two ingredients and the small amount of flour provided give nothing to solidify this enough to hold together.
