Slutty brownies are what happens when three iconic desserts decide to team up and make something legendary. Picture this: a buttery chocolate chip cookie layer, topped with a layer of Oreos, finished off with rich, fudgy brownie batter baked to perfection. Every bite is indulgent, gooey, and straight-up unforgettable. This is the best slutty brownie recipe.

What Are Slutty Brownies?

If you’ve never heard of slutty brownies before, let’s clear things up. Despite the cheeky name, there’s nothing inappropriate here—just decadence layered on top of more decadence.

A classic slutty brownie is made with three main components:

Baked together, these three elements fuse into a dessert bar that’s chewy, crunchy, soft, gooey, and chocolatey all at once. The name started as an internet joke, but the dessert quickly went viral—and for good reason.

Why You’ll Love This Slutty Brownie Recipe

There are a lot of slutty brownie recipes out there, but here’s why this one is special:

  • Made from scratch: No boxed mixes here. Both the cookie dough and brownies are homemade with rich, bakery-quality flavor.
  • Customizable: Use your favorite Oreos, add a pinch of sea salt, or swap in dark chocolate—the possibilities are endless.
  • Crowd favorite: These bars are thick, dramatic, and practically beg to be shared (or not—we won’t judge).

Want something even more nostalgic? Try pairing these with my no-churn vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of hot fudge sauce. You’re welcome.

What Makes These Slutty Brownies Different?

These aren’t just any slutty brownies. They’re made using my go-to brownie recipe and my signature chocolate chip cookie dough—the same ones that have earned rave reviews from thousands of readers. If you’ve baked either of those recipes before, you already know you’re in for a treat.

  • The brownie layer is rich, fudgy, and full of deep chocolate flavor—thanks to a blend of melted chocolate, cocoa powder, and a touch of espresso powder to intensify the taste.
  • The cookie dough base is chewy, buttery, and loaded with chocolate chips for the perfect contrast to the soft brownie top.

These two recipes were basically made for each other—and when you sandwich some Oreos in between? Game over.

Ingredients You’ll Need for Slutty Brownies

This recipe uses pantry staples you probably already have. Here’s what goes into each layer:

  • Salted butter
  • Light brown and granulated sugar
  • Egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda + salt
  • Semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips

For the Oreo Layer:

  • Double Stuf Oreos (about 20–24 cookies)

For the Brownie Batter:

  • Salted butter
  • Semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Cocoa powder
  • Salt + espresso powder
  • Milk chocolate chips

💡 Tip: Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. I love Ghirardelli or Guittard semi-sweet bars.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Slutty Brownies

Cream the butter and sugars, then beat in the egg and vanilla. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips. Press the dough evenly into a lined 9×13-inch pan.

2. Layer the Oreos

Place whole Double Stuf Oreos in a single layer on top of the cookie dough. I like to break a few in half to fill in the gaps so every bite gets some Oreo goodness.

3. Make the Brownie Batter

Melt the butter and chocolate together, stir in the espresso powder, and let it cool slightly. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and thick—this step is key to getting that signature crackly top.

Mix in the vanilla and melted chocolate, then gently fold in the dry ingredients and chocolate chips until just combined.

4. Assemble the Slutty Brownies and Bake

Pour the brownie batter evenly over the Oreos, smoothing out the top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (but no wet batter).

Cool completely before slicing—this is important! The layers need time to set for clean, beautiful cuts.

Tips for Perfect Slutty Brownies

  • Let them cool: It’s tempting to dig in right away, but slutty brownies slice best when fully cooled. Pop them in the fridge for 30 minutes to speed things up.
  • Customize the Oreos: Try flavored Oreos like peanut butter, birthday cake, or even the seasonal ones. It’s a fun way to switch things up.
  • Storage: Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days. They also freeze well for up to 2 months.

Fun Brownie Variations to Try

Want to mix things up? Here are some fun ideas:

  • Salted caramel slutty brownies: Drizzle caramel sauce over the Oreo layer before adding brownie batter.
  • Peanut butter version: Use Nutter Butters or peanut butter cups instead of Oreos.
  • S’mores style: Swap Oreos for graham crackers and add mini marshmallows between the layers.

I also love topping all of my brownies with some flaky sea salt. There’s just something about chocolate and salt; it’s perfection. Try out my Homemade Vanilla Bean Salt Recipe.

Slutty Brownie Recipe FAQs

Can I use boxed brownie mix for Slutty Brownies?

Yes! While I always recommend homemade for the richest flavor, a good-quality boxed brownie mix will still work. If you’re using a mix, prepare it according to package instructions and pour it over the Oreo layer just like you would with the homemade version.

Can I use store-bought cookie dough?

Absolutely. Store-bought cookie dough is a great time-saver when you need a shortcut. Use about 16–18 ounces of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, and press it evenly into the bottom of your 9×13-inch pan. Just be sure it’s the kind that comes in a log or tub (not pre-portioned balls), so you can spread it smoothly.

Do I have to use Double Stuf Oreos?

Not at all! Regular Oreos work perfectly, but Double Stuf Oreos add a thicker, creamier middle layer that makes the final dessert extra gooey. You can also try fun variations like peanut butter, birthday cake, or mint Oreos.

Can I make these in an 8×8 pan?

Yes, you can halve the recipe for an 8×8-inch pan. Bake at the same temperature (350°F), and start checking for doneness around 35–40 minutes. The smaller batch will yield thicker layers.

How do I know when they’re done baking?

You’ll know they’re ready when a toothpick inserted into the brownie layer comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. It’s better to slightly underbake than overbake—slutty brownies are meant to be gooey!

How should I store slutty brownies?

Once cooled, store your brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in the fridge for up to a week. You can also freeze individual squares for up to 2 months. Just thaw at room temp before enjoying.

These slutty brownies are the ultimate layered dessert—featuring a chewy chocolate chip cookie base, a layer of Double Stuf Oreos, and rich, fudgy brownie batter on top. They're ridiculously easy, totally indulgent, and perfect for parties or whenever you're craving something over the top.

Ingredients

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
  • ¾ cup salted butter softened
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Oreo Layer:
  • 25 Double Stuff Oreos
Brownie Layer:
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate baking bar chopped
  • 3/4 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 tsp espresso powder optional
  • 2 cups granulated white sugar
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetneed cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips plus extra for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper (for easy removal).

Chocoate Chip Cookie Dough:

  • In a bowl or stand mixer, cream the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well until combined.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt separately. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Set dough aside (no chilling needed for this application).

Brownies:

  • Melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate bar together; stir in espresso powder. Let cool slightly.
  • Beat eggs and sugar until thick and pale (5-7 mins). Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in cooled chocolate-butter mixture until smooth.
  • Sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt into batter. Fold gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Assembly Instructions (Slutty Brownies):

  • Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
  • Evenly press the prepared chocolate chip cookie dough into the pan to form the base layer.
  • Place whole Double Stuff Oreos neatly in a single layer directly on top of the cookie dough. I like to break a few in half to fill in the edges, making sure every bite has Oreo in it.
  • Pour brownie batter evenly over the Oreo layer, gently smoothing without disturbing Oreos. Top with addiional chocolate chips if desiered.
  • Bake in preheated oven (350°F / 175°C) for approximately 35–45 minutes. Check at 35 minutes—a toothpick inserted should have moist crumbs but no raw batter.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely (at least 1 hour at room temp or chill briefly in fridge) before slicing for clean, defined layers. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Double Stuf Oreos for extra gooeyness. Regular Oreos work too, but the extra filling makes the middle layer even more indulgent.
  • Make ahead: You can assemble the entire pan up to 24 hours in advance and store it covered in the fridge. Let it sit at room temp for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze individually wrapped bars for up to 2 months.
  • Use whatever chocolate you love most. Semi-sweet chocolate is classic and gives great balance, but dark chocolate adds richness and intensity. Prefer something sweeter? Go for milk chocolate. It’s all about what you love—any of them will work beautifully in these brownies.

These are absolutely amazing. I followed the directions which are so simple. Only thing I did differently was to drizzle some caramel sauce over them once they came out of the oven. I even have people that don’t care to eat sweets eating these. My 12 yr old niece is making them today as well. This recipe is the best of all worlds. Thank you for sharing your gift with us and your recipes. This was my first recipe of yours that I made and I will definitely be making others. Again THANK YOU so much. You are an inspiration.

I had already prepared the cookie dough base when I realized…. I forgot to buy the Oreos. I quickly found a box of graham crackers and half a bag of gelatin free marshmallows. So mine had a S’Mores middle, but still turned out amazing. Family loved. Can’t go wrong. I appreciate that you use salted butter because I don’t like keeping both kinds in the fridge (and salted is just better).
